Cape Town is the most popular tourist destination in Africa and is in fact the oldest city in South Africa. It has a warm summer Mediterranean climate with mild, moderately wet winters and dry, warm summers. Cape Town has such a mixture of people and cultures and the city’s diverse heritage can be explored through its historical architecture and colourful cuisine. There are plenty of places of interest and it has a lot of history and culture to offer. When visiting Cape Town they have beautiful beaches to soak up the sun and enjoy all sorts of watersports, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve provides hours of hiking trails and animal encounters and for a dose of history visit the Robben Island prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 27 years. There are also two very well-known landmarks that are not to be missed which are Tabletop Mountain and Cape Point.
There are more than 30 + kite spots in Cape town and it offers such a variety of kitesurfing from flat waters to 6 metre waves and the wind is pretty constant due to its location. Cape Town plays host to the annual King of the Air competition usually at the end of January and into February.
