There are no currents, no waves and the wind blows sideshore from the left. The outer reef gets some nice waves for the experienced kiters.

Anse la Raie offers something for kitesurfing at all levels and is a worthwhile place to visit. It is a flat water kitesurfing and windsurfing location protected by the reef with side shore wind just 1.5 hours north of the Airport. The majority of the coastline is fringed by a reef approximately 2.5 km offshore, creating a vast lagoon ideal for kitesurfing and flat water windsurfing. It is ideal for learning to windsurf or kitesurf with the sheltered conditions and wind side shore from the right.

The Centre

The Centre is located on the grounds of the Blumarine Hotel. Around the north-east coats there's a Reefbelt, which is up to almost 2.5km off the coast.

Here you find a vast lagoon that is not standing deep but creates a huge and safe shallow water play area and because the beach sections are quite small  rarely the kitesurfing courses take place in the mostly knee-deep and sandy bay of Anse la Raie.

This bay is less than a 5 minutes walk from the Blumarine Hotel.

There are some fantastic underwater activities you can do, like snorkelling, diving among the wrecks or even the underwater sea walk. Also you can go on a submarine trip. As well as kitesurfing or windsurfing in this spot on Mauritius you can also enjoy the surfing, parasailing, waterski or kayaking trips. For family fun it’s commendable to go on a catamaran, sailing or dinner cruise and for the adrenalin seekers you can go on a speed boat trip to discover nearby islands. For those who want to discover the coast around Anse la Raie it’s a good idea to go on a hiking trip on Pouce Mountain,go on a horse-riding trip or do a sightseeing trip in a light aircraft, that definitely will be an unforgettable experience. Further you can visit the lovely, beautiful botanical gardens of Mauritius or simply go fishing with the locals. For the night owls it’s worthwhile to visit Grand Baie with its discos and clubs with Mauritian flair or just enjoy a BBQ at the beach in the evenings. In Grand Baie you will also find the shopping malls or do some duty-free shopping in Port-Louis
