Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands lying approximately 60miles from the coast of Africa and has the longest beaches of the archipelago. On the same latitude as Mexico you can imagine it’s a pretty warm climate all year round.
The beaches are stunning and the island has over 150 along its coastline with the majority being fine white sand so no wonder this island has been a mecca for sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts for years. Correlejo and Sotovento the spots we offer have these fine beaches but head to the western side of the island and you will find the famous black sand at places such as Ajuy.
In our summer time the winds are more consistent and generally bring flat water, depending whereabouts on the island you are, Sotovento is flat whilst the North of the island offers wavier conditions. In the winter the Atlantic depressions bring big seas and all or nothing winds but still plenty of sunshine and whenever you travel there its just approximately a four hour flight from the UK.
